Christmas dinner: The Pollock Pines-Camino Community Center Association hosts its annual free Christmas dinner. Children ages 10 and younger will receive a free gift and a visit with Santa Claus. The Rotary Club of Pollock Pines hosts a free breakfast with Santa from 8:30 to 11 a.m. The event also includes an all-day country arts and crafts fair in the center's parking lot. Tri-tip sandwiches will be available for purchase. Proceeds will benefit the community center. When: 8:30 a.m. Where: Pollock Pines-Camino Community Center, 2675 Sanders Drive, Pollock Pines. Cost: Free admission.

Brown puts campaign for Supervisor on hold.

POLLOCK PINES – Kevin Brown, the leading candidate to replace the term limited Helen Bauman for El Dorado County Supervisor, announced that he would suspend his campaign to deal with a medical emergency in the family.

The Pollock Pines-Camino Community Center Association will host a Pasta Fest at 5 p.m. Saturday at 2675 Sanders Drive, Pollock Pines. The cost of $15 for adults and $7 for children 10 and younger includes a complete pasta dinner and salad bar, a no-host bar, drawings for prizes, live entertainment and dancing. Proceeds will benefit community center improvements.

The eighth annual Northern California Green Party "Great Green Campout" is scheduled July 27, 28 and 29 at Dogwood Camp, Jenkinson Lake in the Sly Park Recreation Area near Pollock Pines. Hosts are the Green Party of El Dorado County and the Central Region.

The Dogwood Garden Club will be selling raffle tickets for a "Romance Basket" (over $100 value). The drawing will be held during the final hour of the 8/12 Twilight Dance. Proceeds go to the Dogwood Garden Club in support of local charities. For information on the raffle basket, call Lois Leibnitz at 644-1803. Dance is from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
