A river and a valley amazing events in Sept. Live music & river rafting

Snuggled into the Sierra Nevada foothills bwtween Sacramento & Tahoe is a special place called the Coloma Lotus SValley. Carved over eons by the South Fork of the American River, the valley is special for many reasons. For one thihng, visitors and residents alike love the river. The fast - flowing stretch of river between Chili Bar & FOlsom Reservior is one of the most popular whitewater rafting destinations in the United States! Attracting more than 80,000 kayakers and whitewater rafters each year. Another great treasure is the magnificent open space that bounds both sides of the river. In addition to several tree - shade rivers' edge campgrounds, several large tracts of puyblic land provide space for hiking, horseback riding or mountain biking. Agriculture has been a part of the landscape since the Gold Rush days; these days folks often enjoy the bounty from the numerous local orchards and vinyards.

Visitors often first come here for the whitewater thrills, then are drawn into the ghentle charm of the valley abnd its many amenities, settle here permanently like Avelon did! The easygoing climate and friendly folks make this a perfect place to live.
