Actors needed for outreach program

Female actors, between the ages of 15 and 19, who would like to be part of an outreach program next fall can participate in a special program.

Soroptimist International of Cameron Park is again sponsoring a program that will be offered at middle schools called “Because You’re Special.”  Included in the program is the 30-minute play, “Girls Talk III,” directed by Emily Klingensmith.

The play is comprised of several short scenes on topics of interest and concern to sixth, seventh and eighth grade girls, such as bullying, eating disorders and peer pressure.

Five actresses play a variety of roles, finishing the presentation with a guided question and answer session. The overall goal of the program is to provide information that may be helpful to middle school girls.

The program will be offered in El Dorado County in the fall of 2011. Last year, the actors presented fourteen performances at five different schools for over 1,200 girls. Requests have already started to come in for the fall visits. Up to 12 actors may be cast to fill two rotating troupes.

Auditions are Monday, May 16, at 4:30 p.m. at the Foothill United Methodist Church, 1301 Green Valley Road in Rescue, or by appointment.

Recall of supervisor????

I don’t believe you truly comprehend the insidious dysfunction that is grinding El Dorado County down ....   Please read the facts and view this short video: http://agendadocumentary.com/ favicon

I too have received many messages about the Monday and Tuesday BOS meetings.  Here is just one example:

I just watched the video favicon.....I wondered if Ron Briggs is on medication and didn't take them today?!  I am serious. That is the only reason I could give for him to behave in such a completely rude way!  We continue to pray for TRUTH to come forth about the motives and agenda of the man.”

A Google search for “petulant supervisor” brings up El Dorado County Supervisor Ron Briggs -- A controversial El Dorado County politician is making-good on his reputation for child-like outburst when he does not get his way. Supervisor Ron Briggs’ outbursts have shocked, alienated, and embarrassed local colleagues and constituents for many years. One person said, “this is an embarrassment to the county, he needs to be recalled. What other county would put up with this for so long? This is just one in a series of acts and actions that doesn't just appear to be petulant -- it is petulant."

Last chance for public input- El Dorado County parks Master Plan design -- The last public workshop, for public input, on the future El Dorado County Parks Master Plan is on/at: April 27, 2011 6-7:30 pm, Greenwood Community Center, Greenwood, CA 95635. This is the last chance for probably 10+ years for you to offer easy input into what types of Parks we will build in the future. Since there is a heavy influence by just a half dozen dedicated people pushing a "passive park" (no fun) type agenda, you need to speak now, or forever hold your peace.

Fatality Collision in Mound House Nev. -- 66-year-old Daniel L. Jones of Pollock Pines

Google search for “petulant supervisor” brings up El Dorado County Supervisor Ron Briggs

A controversial El Dorado County politician is making-good on his reputation for child-like outburst when he does not get his way. Supervisor Ron Briggs’ outburst have shocked, alienated, and embarrassed local colleagues and constituents for many years.

Five years ago when he first ran for office, he established his reputation of indiscreet statements when he threatened those that would not support his candidacy.  At one county organization has told voters that he had $250,000 in his campaign, that he would paper the county with signs, that he would win, and if they did not endorse him, he would make them pay.

After being elected as Supervisor his venomous attacks on the tribe building a local casino became so scattered that many began to believe that his attacks were not based in economic facts, but from personal bias.  At one EID meeting he spoke as a Supervisor in a manner that embarrassed most present and end with him dumping his papers on the floor in a fit of anger.

His questionable behavior is not limited to verbal outburst.  Last fall he was seen on county video taking a picture on his cell phone from his seat as Supervisor of testimony.  In less the 24 hours, that picture appeared in a campaign attack mailer against John D’Aogisini, an opponent of the candidate Ron Briggs supported.

Now his dislike of Sheriff D’Agostini has caused him to act as a petulant child, interrupting the Sheriff during a budget workshop to call him “Damn Arrogant” and to say “I am tired of you.”  The audience erupted in calls to "let the Sheriff speak" and

EDC Un-Funded Pension Liability Increased $172 Million in One Year!

California counties are getting a shocking Christmas gift from the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) in the form of an updated actuarial report for the retirement system. Of course, pension liabilities are soaring, which will further stress county budgets. In the small county where I reside (El Dorado County), the unfunded pension liability has increased $172 million in one year, to approximately $264 million. Those are big numbers in a mostly rural county.
