Christmas concert: The Cantare Chorale, under the direction of Jeff Nelson, performs a medley of Christmas favorites and sounds of the holidays. The event also includes the annual Christmas bazaar in the lobby prior to the performance and drawings for gifts by local merchants. Presented by Music on the Divide. Georgetown Divide Health Care Auxiliary hosts its annual Christmas bazaar fundraiser featuring works by local crafters, a bake sale, drawings for prizes and more. Children will receive a free gift bag, book and a photo with Santa. Proceeds will benefit local fire districts and high school scholarship funds. When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

El Dorado County is a place known for its agrarian roots, but one Pilot Hill man apparently takes farming a little more seriously than most, according to a recent El Dorado County Sheriff's report.

Outdoor concert: American River Acoustic Music Camp presents Houston Jones, performing a mix of country, blues, rock, gospel, bluegrass and Appalachian Celtic. Opening acts include Claudia Russell and the Folk Unlimited Orchestra. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and there will be face-painting for the children. The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors will hold a special meeting at 1 p.m. Monday to review maps for potential use in identifying areas appropriate for oak woodland conservation easements.

Georgetown Divide Activities Committee will host the second Rattlesnake-Roadkill Cook-off from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 30 at Veterans of Foreign Wars Park in Georgetown. Placerville, CA – Since its beginning in 1947, the Placerville branch of AAUW has been providing scholarships to local women seeking assistance in reaching their educational goals. This year, AAUW awarded six $500 scholarships to women in our community. There were 17 applicants.
