Brown puts campaign for Supervisor on hold.
POLLOCK PINES – Kevin Brown, the leading candidate to replace the term limited Helen Bauman for El Dorado County Supervisor, announced that he would suspend his campaign to deal with a medical emergency in the family.
"This has never been about me – it's always been about making the county better for families. My family is the cornerstone of my life – and I must put them first," said Brown, a local business owner and former President of the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce.
Brown is not withdrawing from the race, but will suspend campaign activities while he and his wife Kathy care for her mother, Marie. He did not rule out returning to the campaign trail.
"When the situation is clearer, we'll make a final decision," said Brown. "This is my home, so I'm staying involved, and I'll be working to ensure the right candidate wins. Whether that candidate is me, or another candidate we decide to support remains to be seen."
