It is time to hit the slopes!! Whether you are a snowboarder, skiier, or just want to take the kids out for some great winter fun, this week is the perfect time to do it! It is sunny, not too cold and the roads are completely clear, safe and NO chains are required at the moment!

By, by pumpkins hello Apples & Oranges!!

Well the pumpkin season is over and it is time for the apples to start falling just like the leaves. Here in Apple Hill the variety of apples is almost endless! Granny Smiths, Sweet & Delicious, you name it, you can pick it here on the hill!

10th Annual Art & Wine Festival a MUST experience

October 20 kicks off the Art & Wine Festival on Main Street from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. Local wineries and artists will be available for view and tasting. This is such a fun event for all ages. This is a great chance to own a piece of local history and original artwork at an afordable price as all banners will be available for purchase via silent auction during the Festival.

Autumn has fallen!

Well, the sun has dropped lower in the sky and the oak leaves are starting to fall. The first big rain in the past few days actually brought with it some sleet and even a few large snow flakes! It was 42 degrees so nothing stuck, but I hear the Siearra's got a few inches and the cooling trend is supposed to continue. It looks like old man winter is on his way!

A river and a valley amazing events in Sept. Live music & river rafting

Snuggled into the Sierra Nevada foothills bwtween Sacramento & Tahoe is a special place called the Coloma Lotus SValley. Carved over eons by the South Fork of the American River, the valley is special for many reasons. For one thihng, visitors and residents alike love the river.

The close of summer??? No way!

September in Northern Cali and it's historic tiny towns, actually livens up even more with so many great events there is NO way to go to all of them, but I dare all of you to try, as we will! Get out of the hot city, away from the GIANT crowds at the State Fair in Sac town and head up the hill where the weather is fine and girls are finer!

It's getting hot in here!

Yep, even in the mountains it get's hot!! The weather berometer says 96 degrees!! that is crazy hot in my neck of the woods! There are some great festivals going on this weekend. THe Art & Wine festival has kicked off so traffic around Placerville is CRAZY!! prepare for tough parking and sittin in the car!

Cooling in July

Well, there have been many fires in the area, but that hasn't slowed the summer travelers from heading up the hill on hwy 50 towards Tahoe. Please be careful and DON'T throw your cigs out the window and follow the strict NO BURN policy when camping. Remember, only YOU can prevent wild fires!

The weather has realy cooled off alot and is a great change from last weeks triple digits which are rare for this area. Although the "Viper" is saying we'll be getting back up to the low 90's wich will make a trip to the lake a must this weekend!

Friday Eve of 7/7/07

Well, there are more fires burning around the Northern California area, but that didn't slow down the travel up the hill towards Tahoe. The Tahoe fires are completely out and it is safe to return to the area. There may be some closed parks. So you may want to contact the Tahoe National Forestry Service for more informaiton.

There was more than typical Friday Holiday weekend traffic throu Placerville. It was EXTRA heavy. I hope everyone got to where they were going safely. The Lights through Placerville on Highway 50 East can be brutal when it is this hot and that many cars.

On your way to Tahoe via hwy 50 ?
