It is time to hit the slopes!! Whether you are a snowboarder, skiier, or just want to take the kids out for some great winter fun, this week is the perfect time to do it! It is sunny, not too cold and the roads are completely clear, safe and NO chains are required at the moment!

Not only does Tahoe have perfect snow, but even the Sierra foot hills have amazing spots to play, snowshoe or teach the little ones how to sled!

They have great rates for beginners or experinced riders and amazing free schools for the kids! Rentals are reasonable and group packages really can save your family a bundle. And the night riding is something EVERYONE must experience at least once in their lives!

We have had three weeks of heavy snow storms to make the conditions perfect. Now the ice has melted from the roads, so traveling up Highway 50 is much more safe. Although the traffic has gotten heavy as EVERYONE wants the chance to experince the perfect powdery conditions.

To have a traffic free experience, I would suggest a mid week trip. If that isn't possible, at least take off on Friday early in the am and leave the hill on Saturday afternoon or stay longer until Monday am. The driving conditions through Auborn and Placerville on Sunday afternoon or evening are more like a parking lot than actual driving. And who wants to waste all that time, not to mention very expensive gas sitting looking at the back of the car in front of you going no where?

So call you favorite resort, or just plan a day trip to play on the hills around Ice House lake.

This perfect snow may not last with the great sunshine we now have!
