Additional classes include an introduction to "Ornamental and Culinary Herbs" on May 17 and "Ponds and Water Plants and Flowers" on May 31.

A community meeting to discuss transportation plans for the Placerville Drive corridor will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the El Dorado High School main gym, 561 Canal St., Placerville. The commission is working with the city of Placerville and the Placerville Drive Business Association to improve traffic and pedestrian safety along the largely commercial corridor.
