El Dorado County residents will have an opportunity to fight hunger locally by participating in a three-mile walk Saturday. The Walk for Hunger through the El Dorado Town Center will benefit the Food Bank of El Dorado County. Check-in for the Saturday event will begin at 7 a.m., and the walk will start at 8:30.

AARP will offer an eight-hour refresher course from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday at the Cameron Park Library, 2500 Country Club Drive. A class fee of $10 includes review of driver safety, rules of the road, refining driver skills and developing defensive driving techniques. Registration is required. Call (530) 672-1648.

"Foothill Country Bazaar" is the theme for the Shingle Springs Christian Women's Connection lunch set for noon Tuesday at the Sequoia Empire Ballroom, 643 Bee St., Placerville.
