The South Lake Tahoe Cancer League has scheduled its annual picnic at 1 p.m. Thursday at the South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge, 961 Eloise Ave. All Moose members are especially invited to attend. The Cancer League is also making this a recruiting effort for new members. For anyone who is looking for a way to help his or her community and meet new friends, joining the Cancer League is a perfect way. Members assist cancer patients with grants and transportation to and from visits to the doctor. Anyone who has a few hours a week or month should consider joining the Cancer League.
