Focus on Economic Development

Former Shingle Springs/Cameron Park Chamber of Commerce President Shiva Frentzen announced she is running for El Dorado County Supervisor.

Frentzen, who has a long history as an advocate for economic development in El Dorado County, will be seeking the seat currently held by Supervisor Rusty Dupray. Dupray is prohibited from seeking re-election due to term limits.

"I am looking forward to communicating my positions on important issues to the voters during the campaign," said Frentzen, "One of my top issues will be strengthening our local economy and creating good jobs. El Dorado County is a wonderful place to live and raise a family and I want to make sure the people of Cameron Park and El Dorado Hills can work here too."

Frentzen is a successful businesswoman. She is the owner of the award winning CAL Internet Services and ElDoradobusiness.com, which she has owned and operated since 1998.

In 2005, she served as President of the Shingle Springs-Cameron Park Chamber of Commerce. In 2007, the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce awarded her business as Community Service Business of the Year.

"Shiva is a leader in our community. She is the perfect choice to serve on the Board of Supervisors. She is independent, hard working, and as honest as you can get," said David Houghten, Business Owner and Past President of the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce.

"We are very lucky that a candidate with the experience and qualifications of Shiva Frentzen has stepped forward to represent our area on the Board of Supervisors," said Alan Clarke, Cameron Park Community Service District Board Member "Shiva has my full support. She will make an outstanding Supervisor."

Frentzen earned undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Computer Science and later went on to earn her Masters degree in computer science from California State University Sacramento.

Frentzen is running on a platform of economic development for El Dorado County. "We need to bring jobs to the area. Good jobs in the area will alleviate traffic problems, increase time that families spend together, and improve the tax base as businesses improve their capital investments here in El Dorado County," said Frentzen.

Frentzen is fully aware of the challenge ahead. She has spent more than six months researching the position she is seeking.

"This campaign is going to take more than a year. My family and I are fully committed to this. I will be spending the next year walking door-to-door meeting with the people I will be working for on the Board of Supervisors.

Frentzen lives in Cameron Park with her husband and teenage daughter. Her older son is living in Maryland attending University of Maryland.
