Free E-Waste Recycling Event

Argosy E-Cycling Holds Free E-Waste Recycling Event Electronic Recyclers:

WHAT: Argosy e-cycling in Shingle Springs will hold electronic waste collection events on Saturday and Sunday, May 19th and 20th and on Saturday and Sunday, May 26th and 27th. The collections will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. both weekends.

Teaming with Fresno-based Electronic Recyclers, Argosy e-cycling will provide the community an easy opportunity to safely unload their old computers, monitors, television sets and other out-dated, unusable or unwanted electronic items for proper recycling. The free event is designed to provide residents with the opportunity to finally get rid of those old unwanted items, long since replaced and gathering dust in garages or storage units.

It is estimated that over six million computer monitors and televisions are stockpiled in California garages, closets and attics due to the development of newer technologies. This electronic equipment can be harmful to the environment and human health if not properly recycled. Many Californians are unaware that it is illegal to throw certain electronic items, such as televisions and computer monitors, in the trash because of the environmentally sensitive materials they contain.

"We are very proud to be involved in this event and to partner with Argosy e-cycling," said John S. Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of Electronic Recyclers. "Electronic waste is a growing problem that affects the environment and human health. Events like these provide the community with a great, easy way to safely recycle their old electronics and protect California."
