Diamond Springs, CA, April 20, 2007 – El Dorado Transit will implement the following important changes to its Local Fixed Route and Iron Point Light Rail Connector services effective Monday, April 30, 2007. 

• The Placerville Express Route will begin at Placerville Station at :30 minutes past every hour from 7:30am until 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The bus will no longer service the Placerville Post Office, the City Park on Behnam St. or Prospector Plaza on Missouri Flat Rd. The route will instead travel Placerville Drive and Ray Lawyer Dr. adding stops at the Regal Theaters, Big 5, and the Library/Government Center. The Express will still offer passengers a quick cross-town connection to other El Dorado Transit local routes at the Missouri Flat Transfer Center at the top of each hour.

• The Main Street Shuttle will begin operating on Tuesdays only from 8:00am to 1:00pm offering convenient parking shuttle service, every 15 to 20 minutes, from the Placerville Station on Mosquito Rd. to downtown Placerville. The Main Street Shuttle is a free service.

• The Diamond Springs and Folsom Lake College Shuttle routes will add midday Saturday service beginning 5/5.

• The Iron Point Connector will add return service, by request, to the Fairgrounds Park & Ride on Armory Dr. in Placerville on its first loop of the day (7:18am). Passengers will now have a “reverse” commute option from Folsom and the Light Rail to the Government Center every weekday morning. The Connector will discontinue Saturday service effective 5/5.
